Instantly recognisable by its cushion-shaped 44mm brushed stainless steel case and the brand’s patented crown-protecting bridge, this Luminor Marina trades Panerai’s traditional dark dials for something lighter: a crisp white sandwich dial, one of the first of its kind for the model.

The two-layer sandwich construction cuts luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers through the white upper plate, revealing a Super-LumiNova-coated lower layer for strong legibility both day and night. A small seconds sub-dial sits at 9 o’clock with its own luminous leaf-shaped hand, while a date window at 3 o’clock adds everyday practicality. The dial is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and the polished steel bezel and screw-down, ribbed crown add the finishing Panerai touches.

Inside is the in-house automatic Calibre P.9010, built on a twin-barrel architecture for an approximate 3-day power reserve, with a convenient quick hour-hand-and-date setting function that’s especially useful when travelling. The watch is rated to 300 metres water resistance, reflecting Panerai’s diving heritage, and is presented on a scamosciato (suede-finish) leather strap with contrast stitching and a steel buckle. An additional rubber strap is typically included, letting the watch move easily between smart and casual settings.
